Nissan Pathfinder transmission
Transmission is a component of the drivetrain in a rear-wheel drive vehicle featuring
internal gears that, enables the car to travel at different speeds when the engine
is turning at the same rpm. The Pathfinder had been offering manual transmissions
in its earlier editions which require the driver to shift gears as needed.
However mostly of the Pathfinder's featured are automatic transmissions. This
transmission upshift and downshift according to prescribed parameters even without
the driver's input, but can also be manually shifted. The performance of an automatic
transmission can be improved by installing a shift kit. Nissan Pathfinder was
offering a standard five-speed manual gearbox and a four-speed automatic transmission
as optional when it was first introduced in 1987. When the 2001 Nissan Pathfinder
was launched the four-speed automatic transmission was made standard for all trims.
